deus ex machina, 2019.
Artist: Ezra Montague
In Ezra Montague's piece, deus ex machina which means "god from the machine", we see the bridge between reality and fantasy. Shown in glitch Ezra shows you a scene of dancer Sophia Garcia staring at the viewer a mirror off in the distance, much like in Andy Warhol's Poor Little Rich Girl, but here we see her almost horror like, nervously bouncing as she sees herself. In this the artist very simply asks you a question- what if you're suddenly met with yourself? The image you are and the image you think you are? And what if you're wrong about you?
